HOUSE OF PRAYER AND RESTORATION CHRISTIAN CHURCH
("IGLESIA CRISTIANA CASA DE ORACIÓN Y RESTAURACIÓN")
_______________________________________________________

Who we are?
House of Prayer and Restoration Christian Church was organized as a non-for profit religious corporation under the laws of the State of New York, Monroe County.  We formally met for the first time on August 13, 2000 .

Where we are:
The Lord has blessed us with the use of the beautiful facilities of Brighton Reformed Church (BRC) on a splendid location at 805 Blossom Road .  We have also been blessed with the opportunity to be partners in ministry with BRC, a church with a long established ministry and a strong presence in the community that we both minister to.  BRC's facilities include a sanctuary that seats about 350, over 10 classrooms and kitchen facilities to prepare lunch and snacks for the children.  We also enjoy the use of a separate fellowship lodge for social gatherings.

Our Vision:
We have been established by God as a house of prayer and restoration to serve God in worship by being a church that worships God in spirit and truth; to serve God in nurture by teaching those redeemed by Jesus everything He has commanded in the Holy Scripture and by caring for the believers; and to serve God in witness by reaching out to the world with the message of God's grace and salvation.

Our Purpose and Mission:
Our main purpose is to glorify the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Our mission is to fulfill the great commission as declared by the Lord on Mathew 28:19-20: "Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."(NIV)

To accomplish our mission, we have the following program:

Children's Program:
We bring children from the community as well as the children from our members to the church every Wednesday and Sunday.  We offer transportation to those kids whose parents cannot bring them to the church.  The Program includes a range of educational and entertainment activities specifically designed for children such as:

bullet

Teaching of the Holy Scripture (the Bible),

bullet

Teaching the kids to sing praises to God,

bullet

Supporting the school and parent's teaching by reinforcing the principal human moral values,

bullet

 Indoor and outdoor games,

bullet

Sleep over, camping and many other activities.

We also serve the kids a nutritious lunch on Sunday.  In the future, we plan to include other activities such as tutoring and counseling.

We are currently working with an average of 50 kids.  About 20% of these kids come from families that are not members of our church.
